2. Make it Easy to Navigate
Your target audiences are searching for information so make it easy for them to find what they are looking for. Navigation should be intuitive to the point they know they are on the right track to finding what they want when they click on a link. A good rule of thumb is that it should not take more than three clicks to find what they are looking for. Just because you understand how to navigate your website doesn’t mean a new customer or client does. Do some testing with test customers. Give them a challenge such as finding out how to order a product or learning how to contact you. Get their feedback on the process to help make navigation easier.
3. Be Mobile-Ready
The days when all you had to have was a website that looked good on a desktop computer are gone. As such, websites must by optimized for viewing on mobile devices such as smart phones. Fortunately, suppliers such as WordPress offer website templates that work on smart phones, tablets, and desktop computers. This is even more important today as mobile-ready sites place higher in Google searches compared to sites that are not mobile-ready.
